Our child contact service provides safe and positive contact arrangements with a minimum of stress and upset, both for children and parents.

For some separated parents, anger, hostility, fear, or sadness can make it difficult to manage contact and shared-care arrangements.

FSAM has provided supervised contact since 2001. All contacts are supervised by qualified social workers.

A relationship breakdown between you and your ex-partner should not affect your bond with your child.  In the vast majority of cases, both parents still have an important role to play in the child's life. It is widely recognised that except in a small number of circumstances, contact with both parents is important for a child's wellbeing and future development. In some situations, contact between a child and their non-residential parent ceases altogether. This can lead to confusion, insecurity and trauma for a child in the longer term.

why choose FSAM ?

  • Experienced and qualified social workers ensure the safety and wellbeing of your child.

  • Supervised contact visits enable the child and visiting parent to enjoy quality time together. Staff will have a low-key presence whilst remaining vigilant.

  • We guarantee absolute privacy and confidentiality for both parents. Many of our supervisors have worked with families who lead lives in the public eye.

  • We work outside of office hours, including weekends.

  • Contact either in the community, or at the non- resident parent’s home.

  • we facilitate handover arrangements to enable the child to be transferred from one parent to the other at contact times, without the need for parents to meet.

  • We have full discussion with both parents before contact begins.

We work with children to prepare for contact. This can help them with the reintroduction of contact with their parent, and ensures that their views are listened to and emotional needs met.

We work with parents to prepare for contact. We meet with each parent so they can understand the needs and wishes of their child and agree rules around the contact.

Helping you make good decisions in difficult times

FSAM specialises in complex, high-vigilance supervised contact. This is used in cases where it is believed that the child has suffered-or may suffer- harm during contact. We accept referrals from solicitors, local authority children’s services and parents when there is agreement between them.
